MARCH 30, 2007 ***31 WK OB APPT***

Well my appointment was today. One of those not exciting ones so I don't have much to report on. She said I was measuring right on and I gained 2 lbs. which puts me a total of 21 so far. BP and everything looked good. I have one more quicky appt in 2 weeks and then the checks start. Nearing the home stretch!

MONDAY MARCH 26, 2007 ***SUCCESSFUL 3D U/S***

I took a belly picture to start today off so we would have inside/outside shots of the same day. I figured since it was a special occasion that I'd do bare belly so don't mind the stretch marks. Luckily I haven't noticed any new ones from E-Man - the ones I have are all battle marks from K-Girl's pregnancy. ;)

Well tonight went much better. We still did not get to see his full face without a hand or something in front of it. The entire time he was up higher he had his arm/hand(s) in front of his face and then after that he snuggled way back down and we couldn't see above his nose well. But we got a few good ones and over all I'm pleased. I feel like I got the sneak peak I was looking for. ;) And from what we saw I believe that E-Man is going to look very much like K-Girl. He's got a chubby round face with full lips and a cute little button nose. I can't wait to see what he really looks like. Oh and she also said she believes that he has hair as well. hehe

Ok here are a couple of my favorites. Then feel free to check out all of them at my photobucket account.

*I deleted the link to this.  If you are interested send me an e-mail*

First a comparison of K-Girl and E-Man in their 3Ds (K-Girl was 24weeks & E-Man is 30)...

Oh and here incase you didn't know K-Girl as a baby or need a refresher...
She was just shy of a week old in this picture.

OK so here are E-Man's pictures from tonight's u/s...

Arm in front of face/mouth slightly open...

Smirk (because he knew he was being a stinker and not letting us get a good peek)...

Arm still up there...

Licking his arm...

Hand in front of face (he was tucked way down in this one so above his nose isn't really that clear)...

All done. Covering his eyes but you can see his cute little lips...

And like I said if you would like to see the rest feel free to check out photobucket. I have the couple from the other two visits in there as well.

OK it's late so that's enough for tonight.

SUNDAY MARCH 18, 2007

This weekend was another productive one. Since The Husband got his bonus check we decided to go ahead and get everything we needed still for E-Man's arrival - minus the co-sleeper because his mom wants to buy us a bigger ticket item that we need and well that's pretty much the only thing. Oh yeah and the stroller - but we need to figure that out - although I'm pretty sure of what I want. Anyway - we went to Babies R Us in Harrisburg and Target in West York and shopped. It was fun - other than K-Girl was not in the mood at all (and in her defense she was still feeling blah). But it's done. There really wasn't that much though which is nice. Definitely don't need as much this time around as we did with K-Girl...which definitely helps the wallet.

Also The Husband got up the ceiling fans. They are only painted rather than having the pieces of border put up on them, but we wanted to get them hung and since for the border the rule is 72 hours after paint we figured we should do the same for the fan blades. But with them hung I think I kind of like them how they are so I might not add anything to them. I'll try to get a picture of them tomorrow. Let me just say though after not having an overhead light in K-Girl's room all the time we've lived here - it is SOOOOO nice to have now. I can actually see the books at night before bed. The little lamp just didn't do much for it. This is MUCH better. And I'm sure once summer comes that fan is going to be a God sent as well.

This morning I went ahead and bought everything I need for the cloth diapering venture with E-Man - well all the accessories and everything other than diapers and then the newborn/small diapers/covers. So once these 5 packages come I've got everything I need. Very exciting. Then I can start prepping them to get them ready for use. I'm looking forward to seeing it all. I've changed my list so many times so it's nice to finally stop obsessing about them and just know that everything is taken care of. And I'm hoping after he's all outgrown the smalls that the one size diapers will start working and I've got 8 of them so I'm pretty much on my way with those as well. It's a good feeling. Once everything comes in I'll share pictures and everything I got. Without the pictures though I feel it's useless to write the list. ;)

FRIDAY MARCH 16, 2007 ***I PASSED!!!***

I PASSED!!! I PASSED!!! I PAAAASSSSSSED!!!!

This morning I had an OB appointment and I got the results for my glucose test - I PASSED!! I'm so stinkin' happy right now. No worrying about my diet. No pricking my finger and testing my sugar levels 4 to 5 times a day. No worrying about my baby having sugar problems when he's born. I'm soooo excited that I don't have to worry about it this time around. It's funny though because we said after my ultrasound at Womb with a View and the fact that he was sound asleep through it even though I had McDonalds and tryed the Sunny D thing and everything that I wouldn't be suprised if I didn't have it this time because it doesn't seem to have as much effect on him. Well I don't know if there is any truth to that or not, but baby I'm not diabetic and that's the best news I've had in a while.

So in other appointment news - I'm 29 weeks today and so my appointments start going to every two weeks rather than four. I'm scheduled to go back March 30th. This is where I really found that the pace of the pregnancy started to pick up with K-Girl, but the whole thing has been going fast so I'm interested to see how much faster the end is going to go this time.

In the weight gain front - I gained 5 lbs over the past 4 weeks. I guess that's pretty good, but I'd be happier if it were less. Oh well it's better than the 9 that was last month. I'm up to a total of 19 lbs. Considering that my total weight gain with K-Girl was something right around 25 lbs I don't think I'm going to do that well this time. Oh well....at least I DON'T HAVE GESTATIONAL DIABETES!! (catching on to a theme yet? hehe)

TUESDAY MARCH 13, 2007 ***NEED TO RESCHEDULE 3D U/S***

Well E-Man did not cooperate at all tonight. He was sound asleep no matter what we did. I even ate a value meal at McDonalds before going in - I tried the Sunny D thing - I tried squats - I tried walking up and down stairs - I tried lunging up and down stairs. Nothing woke him up. He was head down and had his elbow on his knee and then his hand under his chin - think "the thinker" position - and his head was way back so we really couldn't see much more than his body and his chin and sometimes a cheek. His head was sooooo far down in my pelvic area that she could not see well at all. She was impressed with how low he was. So after 45 minutes we finally gave up and I need to call in the morning and reschedule to go back in a week or two (free thankfully since they couldn't see what they promised)....which should be interesting with The Husband's upcoming travels. We're going to try for either the 23rd or the 26th - hopefully they will have something one of those days that will work. So I just thought I would update. She gave me two pictures so I'll work on scanning those in or maybe they are on my disc. I'll check that out tomorrow. Alright well I just wanted to update how it went. Toodles.

TUESDAY MARCH 13, 2007

Tonight is the 3D ultrasound at Womb with a View. I'm excited about it. It was a great experience with my pregnancy with K-Girl so I'm looking forward to it this time too. I can't wait to get a little peek at my little boy. I hope K-Girl is well behaved. They have a really awesome play area that kept her busy during the gender check so I'm hoping it will keep her busy this evening. Scott called this morning and said that Mom found someone to switch with her tonight so that she can go. But now Mother-In-Law already made plans with a friend for this evening and she doesn't want to cancel them so she's not going. I thought I had said both or none because I didn't want either to be jealous about one getting to go, but The Husband said it's not a big deal so I guess I'll just leave it at that. It'll be nice though so if K-Girl isn't being great my mom will be there. I don't want The Husband to miss anything because he was to watch her. So that will be her job since she now gets to go along. hehe

This morning the electrician came and installed boxes in the ceilings of K-Girl's and E-Man's rooms so that The Husband can install the ceiling fan/light. It's all hooked up and ready to go. But I'm so tired this morning and so is K-Girl. When I woke her up this morning she was not happy. She told me she didn't want to be awake. Poor kid. So of course now I'm dealing with an extremely cranky toddler this morning. I think I'm making lunch a bit early and getting her to nap....and for that matter I might just lay down as well. Tomorrow I need to dust a vacuum K-Girl's room. The sawing of the hole didn't make a huge mess as we had most things covered, but I noticed there is a thin layer of white powder on the dressers. But I'm tired today and we won't be around tonight so tomorrow I'll get that done. Then we need to paint the fan blades so we can get those installed. I want to do it before The Husband goes to Canada which is either Saturday or Sunday. Daylight savings time helps though because it won't be dark when he gets home from work so he'll have that daylight to work on installing them since all the power needs to be shut off.

This past Sunday was my baby shower. :) THANK YOU, ARI!! It was really nice and for the most part a surprise. It was great that my out of town friends were able to make it. I really didn't expect that - especially Nicki with her newborn. But it was very nice. I got a lot of really great things...a lot of blue which is exciting after having pink for so long. We really need to go through everything and start figuring out what else we need. But I think he's off to a really great start. I've got pictures on the camera that The Husband was snapping - I haven't gotten a chance to even look at them, but when I do and there are any good ones I'll be sure to share a few. There isn't that much that I have to take back/exchange which is also great. I'm a bit disappointed though with one thing. We registered for this ducky bath spout cover (for the bathtub) because we figured if we put two in the bathtub they are going to have less room and we don't want K-Girl bopping her head on it. Well I went to put it on and see how it worked and well now The Husband has to recaulk the spout. Nice huh? So here take this as a lesson. If your bath spout has a little pull up thingy to turn on the shower - DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE! It slid on really easily so I figured it would slide back off as easily....nope not like that. There is a ridge that catches that little pull thingy and it got stuck. The Husband had to use a long screwdriver and pry it up over that and ended up pulling a bit too hard and broke the seal on the whole spout from the wall. Not good. So we have to take it back. :( It was really neat and I had been looking at them for a long time. I'm disappointed that we have to take it back. But I got lots of nice clothes, a blue Bumbo chair, this really awesome gift box of cloth diapers, bath towels/wash cloths, blankets, baby book, piggy bank, this infant to toddler rocker that K-Girl is currently using and LOVES so it's nice to have a chair that can be used for E-Man but that K-Girl won't break when she sits in it. I know I'm missing things, but really I'm so thankful. We got so many nice things.

MONDAY MARCH 5, 2007 ***NURSERY IS ALMOST DONE***

Here is the nursery last night...

The only things that need done...

I'm painting on the closet doors. I'm going to draw the little animals from the border/bedding/curtains up on the closet doors and then I'll paint them. It just looks too empty still with just the blue doors.

Ceiling fan needs purchased and then I need to paint it to match the room and decorate it and all. The electrician is coming on the 13th to install electrical boxes in K-Girl and E-Man's rooms so that The Husband can put them up. It will be so nice in the summer to have fans and I just can't wait to have some overhead light. I have to have an extra lamp in there right now to see to work. So I look forward to that in both rooms.

The Husband has to brace the shelf that we put up above the changing table. It if was anywhere else I'd say fine, but it doesn't look like the sturdiest shelf and with the fact that the baby will sometimes be directly under it I want to make sure it's supported and not going anywhere.

Oh and we still need to put up a roll blind. The one we picked up the other night is like 1/2" too short...go figure. So we need to get a longer one.

And then I think all that needs done is just setting everything up and putting everything in the places. It's feeling really good to get it done and see it coming together.

SUNDAY MARCH 4, 2007

This morning so far we put up the outlet covers in the nursery, put up the shelf, arranged the furniture in a way that I'm happy with, and marked for the border. Now we just have to wait for naptime to put it up as K-Girl just doesn't want to stay out from under our feet and really wants to "help". Then after nap we need to make a Target run and a Home Depot run as the blind for E-Man's window is like half an inch too small. Pain in the butt. But then by the end of the day the nursery should be in order that it just needs things put in order and put away.

I'm also officially in my 3rd trimester - last leg. I can't believe it. I was also looking through my pictures and realized that I hadn't taken a picture of my belly since 21 weeks 3 days so it's been a while. So here's a picture of me yesterday morning since I was actually put together. 27 weeks 1 day like the picture says.

It seems with the third trimester came surging hormones again as I feel a bit unstable again. (see: crying for no reason) And I am also about to swear off jeans as I spend the time I wear them in agony. E-Man is riding a LOT lower than K-Girl ever did and my waistband of my jeans about puts me in tears. It stinks as I hate looking frumpy. But I don't think I'll be wearing them too much anymore.
