I'm 35 weeks...and other gab

I had a drs appointment this afternoon as I'm 35 weeks today. I don't have a ton of info from the appointment, but let's see. I gained 2 pounds which puts me to a total of 23 I believe. So I'm still doing well on that front. 2 pounds for the whole last month - yeah I can live with that. And if you knew all that I was eating well then you would really know how excited I am about that. haha E-Man's heartbeat sounded strong and very good. My belly was measuring right on target. I got my strep b test done today as well. I scheduled my appointments for every Friday until my due date (hopefully I won't need them all though). It's crazy to see the end in sight so soon. It's really coming up quicker the closer it gets to the end. Starting next week I will get checked to see if I'm making any progress. I'm crossing my fingers. ;)

Here's my belly picture...

And then I was playing around with some pictures I took and paintshop and I made these which I really like...

The Husband and I are going to look around to see if we can find a professional photographer that does pregnancy pictures. I would like to have some nice ones as a keepsake from this pregnancy and to have family pictures done. I'm going to try to find some numbers and make some calls tomorrow and see what we can come up with.

We started spring cleaning last weekend and got 3 rooms done and a bit of painting done in the dining room/kitchen. We hope to finish the painting and get a few more rooms done this weekend. We're nearing the finish line and I would love to have this whole house clean by the time we get there. Then I won't feel as bad about letting things go a bit and just doing the necessities knowing that it had a good thorough cleaning not too long ago.

Oh we got our new washer and dryer delivered this week. I'm loving them already. They fit sooooo much. I caught up with our wash in the day they arrived. You can fit soooo much in them. We got the LG 4.0 capacity Steam washer and it's matching dryer. VERY NICE.

Well that's about all I can come up with for now. I hope everyone is well.

"I'm not sleepy"

I got K-Girl down to nap and then there was a dirty diaper issue and one of the cats got sick and it just ended up that K-Girl refused to go back down even though she didn't have as much as a minute of sleep. And at that point I was not in the mood for a struggle. I decided that early to bed would be my game plan instead. Well don't you know she was laying on the floor playing and then snuggled up to her big puppy and fell asleep. She was only sleeping for maybe 5 minutes though till Molly barked and that was the end of that. At least night time should be pretty easy. But I got a picture opportunity. I love watching her sleep. She looks so peaceful and it lets me forget about all the temper tantrums even if it is just for the moment.

Outfits and Belly Comparison

Last night we went down to the Carter's outlet in Lancaster. K-Girl is now set on jammies for spring/summer and we got her a few t-shirts as well. Of course I couldn't resist looking at the baby boy clothes even though we really do have quite a bit now. But we decided to pick out his picture outfit for the hospital and his coming home outfit too since we didn't have anything picked. So I just thought I would share. The little clothes get me so excited to have him.

Picture outfit...

Coming home outfit...

I thought it would be fun to compare my preggo belly with K-Girl to mine with E-Man. I found this picture of me at 33 weeks along with K-Girl and I put it next to the picture I took yesterday with E-Man. I just thought I would share the side by side...

And I have to say -

I'm thankful that my breakouts seem to have come to a close and are back to a more "normal" scale than what they were earlier in the pregnancy.

I'm thankful that I haven't got any new stretch marks (at least so far) since the ones I have from K-Girl are plenty for me.

I'm thankful that for the most part I'm just expanding in the belly and my whole face and body is not ballooning like it did with K-Girl.

Other than just being uncomfortable from getting so big the end of this pregnancy is definitely treating me better than the end of it with K-Girl.

Oh yeah and I'm thankful I have a hair appointment for tomorrow morning because oh my goodness do I need it!! haha I used to schedule them for 8 weeks, but with the prenatals pumping through my system I have realized that I should have had my hair cut like 2 - 3 weeks ago. I'm SOOOOO shaggy. hehe

This past weekend was a super productive one. We made a nice dent on our "Before Baby To Do List" that we have hung on the fridge. The Husband transformed the basement again. It's so nice down there now. Everything is put away and cleaned up and organized - it looks great. That was his project Saturday and then on Sunday K-Girl went down to the ILs for about 4 hours and we tackled the 4th bedroom. When we started we had just enough space to open the door and walk in and by the end of the day it's a usable space again. Our next plan of attack up there is to paint it, find a daybed and a small nightstand/chest of drawers, and put a curtain up. Then we'll have the guest room we've wanted to have since we moved in here. And my hope is to do it before E-Man's arrival so that guests have their own space. Like I know for sure my MIL will be spending the night at least one night so I really want to have a place for her to sleep and be comfortable. So hopefully we can get that accomplished. At least now I can go up and scrap again. I need to work on organizing my pictures and then I'm going to give it a go again. This weekend it's supposed to be mostly sunny and I believe low 60s so The Husband really wants to work outside. I hope to get at least a bit more accomplished inside as well.

Alright well I think that's about all for this morning.

33 Week OB Appt & Tree Down

This morning I had my 33 week check up for the pregnancy. I don't have much to report on as it was another of those quicky appointments. Big news for the appointment was the fact that I haven't gained even a pound over the past two weeks which makes me VERY happy. I've been dreading this appointment's weigh in because of my lack of will power around all the candy in the house right now. Well that and wanting to eat all the darn time. So I'm pleased. Still sitting at a total gain 21 lbs. I can deal with that. Of course I have 7 more weeks to go (approx.). The heartbeat sounded good, but she never tells me a heart rate so I don't know that and she didn't tell me how I was measuring. Blood pressure was fine as well. Like I said - not too much to report on. My next appointment is in two weeks - April 27th. And then I believe after that appointment I start going every week. It's getting down to the wire.

In other news...

We had been wanting to get some trees down for a while and we finally got the first one down. It's expensive to get them down so we're waiting a little to do more, but this is the biggie. It was the cherry tree right in front of the house. I hated that tree. No doubt it was gorgeous when it blossomed, but as soon as it was done (which was only I swear like 2 weeks to a month) all the petals fell down and rotted and just made a huge mess out of everything. So that's down now. It is sooooo nice to be able to see the house from the road and see out of K-Girl and E-Man's room without branches in the way. Not only did I just not like the tree due to the mess - it was rotting as we found a TON of bugs living in it and the branches at certain places were starting to droop. So it really did have to go. The next on my list is the other big one on the other side of the walk that sits closest to the house and then out back there is an ugly looking one that is planted and then surrounded by bricks. So those two must go yet and then I'll be a happy camper. And since the one in the back is tiny we'll probably due the next two together and call it done. Exciting.

(Oh and I have to say that Specialty Tree Service is GREAT! They clean up after themselves so well. Last time they were here you couldn't even tell, but that was a tiny tree too. This time there is still a bit of saw dust, but over all it looks GREAT. I know when the neighbors got their tree down the people did like zero cleanup and it looked HORRIBLE. So I'm very pleased with them. And they are fast too!)

I did take before and after pictures to see the big difference so here you are...

Happy Easter

Or maybe this should be titled "Sugar High" because that's what this weekend was...one continuous sugar high.

Saturday we took K-Girl to an egg hunt. Brrr - that pretty much sums it up. Man it was cold. Definitely did not have the problem of the candy melting in the eggs like last year. There were snow flurries and all, but the worst was the wind. K-Girl got a basketful of eggs and was happy. Then Grandma gave K-Girl another basket filled with an assortment of sugar which only added to the sugar high. ;)

Sunday the Easter Bunny visited and did not bring quite as much candy. K-Girl got a small basket with goodies and two t-shirts and a Mr. Potatohead bucket that she just loves. The Husband and I got her the board game "Panda Bear, Brown Bear What do you see?" and she likes playing that. We've played twice so far and each time K-Girl has come out the winner. It's very cute as it goes right along with the books...

They have other games that follow these books at Target. I want to get her The Hungry Caterpillar game too. That looks cute.

We went over to The Husband's parent's house for lunch - ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, lima beans, rolls, and Hawaiian wedding cake for dessert. Very yummy lunch. And of course they got her an Easter basket as well. I swear K-Girl is set on candy for the next year. hehe

I took a few pictures - they aren't anything great, but I still figured I would share. So enjoy...

Bugs **FIXED**

I decided to copy over just about everything pregnancy related to this blog so it's all here, but I'm running into some bugs I need to figure out. Biggest thing right now are pictures. As you can see they are being cut off and things are off centered. Hang in there I'll figure it out. But I think I'm done for today.

EDITED TO ADD:

Alright I think it's all fixed. I had to make sure all my pictures are within a certain size so it should all be taken care of now. Enjoy.

This should be fun...

I haven't been doing a very good job at keeping everyone up to date here lately. I was thinking about making a website for E-Man like I did for K-Girl, but then that only somewhat keeps you up to date. So then I thought why not create a blog to post about all things Gohn. I can update on The Husband, K-Girl, and myself along with news about the pregnancy and everything else. I chose to host the blog here for the reason that anyone can comment on here rather than Xanga where you have to be a member in order to leave comments. So here we are. I'm not sure if I'm going to try to find posts/blogs I've posted elsewhere so that this can have a total record of my pregnancy so far or if I'll just start fresh now, but stay tuned for the most recent happenings of our crazy family and pictures too.
