Puppy love

Who needs more babies...well of the human persuasion?  Nah I'm good.  Besides, I've already fallen in love.

Isn't she gorgeous?

My father and T have dachshunds - currently 8 of them.  Four of the eight are brand new baby puppies.  Well they aren't brand new, I guess they are 4 weeks old.  But cuuuuuute!  They also have momma and daddy as well.  Last litter of puppies we came about > < this far from getting one.  But we just weren't sure.  The timing wasn't quite right.  E-Man was just too new and life was a bit chaotic still from that.  They weren't planning on having more puppies and these were a bit of an oops.  But I think this time the timing is quite perfect.  And I fell for this little beauty named "Gabby".

She's a long hair dapple.  Her momma is a tweenie (halfway between a mini and a regular size) and her daddy is a mini so she should be somewhere between them in size.  This picture doesn't pick up the grayish tone to her hair.  It turned it more brown.

Here is her momma "Gidget" who is a long hair sable...

and her daddy "Patch" who is a long hair dapple...

Aren't they beautiful?

But K-Girl's heart belonged to Patch's sister, Cocoa.  Sure she loved the puppies, but Cocoa loved her up and K-Girl was hooked.

The puppies obviously aren't ready to leave their momma.  They should be ready shortly after the first of the year.  Although if we do make this definite (haha sorry I had to add the "if" for Husband's sake) we'll probably bring our new addition home closer to the end of January.  Really our only hang up is what Molly would think of her new baby sister.  Other than that we would just love to have a dog that will grow up with the kids.  Molly could just care less about the kids.

Awwwwwwww. So precious.

I had a dachshund when I was a child. Sweet, sweet dog.

If we're brave enough to get another dog, we will probably get a long-haired dachshund. I'm not sure what our beagle would think but he's done pretty well adjusting to the furless 2 year old that's taken over our lives.

The name Gabby sounds too perfect for your dog. It might be because I've always been biased toward that name...
It's Thanksgiving, and I'm just grateful that I can't see any of those dogs in person. I'm not sure we're ready for a little friend right now. I love 'em!

Oh my goodness, they are so darn cute. We almost bought a dachshund, but hubby wanted a standard poodle instead!
