Call me a hypocrite too

Yeah I finally gave in and I'm no longer poking fun at all of you.

I guess I'm not only judgmental, but I'm also a hypocrite too.  Geeez.  But you still like me right?

A friend of mine has the series and had been on me a while for the fact that I was resisting reading them.  You see, I'm not a fan of things when they get this huge cult-like following - Harry Potter for one.  Although I will NOT be reading Harry Potter any time soon.  Twilight just had too much buzz and that put me off.  Seriously how could it be that good.

Insert foot in mouth.

Alright I get it.  I understand.

After my friend gave me the first book I still was resisting reading it.  It wasn't until she casually told another friend that after I was done with it that she could borrow it that I thought well shoot now I have to read the darn thing.  So I did.  I had read maybe a chapter previous to her saying it and I was unimpressed.  Well after I picked it up I got to about chapter three and was hooked.  HOOKED.  I finished it in about 4 days and was back to trade her for the second book, New Moon.  I just finished that in three day's time and I'm onto Eclipse now.  I'm already halfway through it after only starting it last night after finishing New Moon.  GEEZ.  It's going by too quickly now though  I'm sad that I'm over halfway completed with the series.

No other book has ever made me cry that I can think of at least.  I know that no other book has done it to me by chapter three.  I'm hopeless.  I'm not going to breech the movie until I've finished all of the books though.  I don't want it to play on how I am portraying the characters in my mind.  That and I have heard that the movie is a let-down compared to the books as most movies based on books are.  We'll see.

I just wanted to just issue a formal apology for secretly laughing at you all.  There.  A clearer conscience.  I'm going back to reading now.

It's weird how books reach this level of Everyone Reading. I am so behind on reading other things that I haven't thought of it. Huh. Far behind sounds so weird because I've been working so hard to not run out of books in Germany.
You've got me thinking I have to check out the series now!

Sucker. Aw, just kidding. I haven't read them because I don't read that many books lately. I may get back to it when the kids are older.

But, one of my best friends just gave in too and won't quit going on about them, so we'll see... Glad you like it!

I loved Harry Potter but I haven't read these yet Let me ask...

Are the lines in the book as cheesy as the ones in the commercials for the movie?

Kaci kept on me about how good the series was, but without knowing anything, I wasn't going to spend a bunch of $$ on books, so I rented the new movie! I liked it, didn't love it. But I could see how the book would be MUCH better then the movie. More detail.

DH didn't care for it at all, but I'm sure it's because of the "love story" behind it. He'd prefer the shoot 'em up movies.

I was like you...swore i would never read them. when i read new moon, i put it down, and picked it up, put it down picked it up.

it was so unrealistic, but it just kept pulling me back for more.

now, i SWORE, i wasn't going to watch the movie either, so it wouldn't ruin my characters that i had in my head. BUT, you know I broke down and i have to say i really liked it.

they stayed pretty true to the story and I actually "liked" Bella better in the movie, but i thought the appearance of the Cullen's was bizarre, i mean i realize they are vampires, but...mmm.no.

and jacob wasn't my jacob, i loved him in the book, but Edward was definitely my Edward.

I hated Breaking Dawn at first, but loved it by then end. though you are probably done already!!!

... and seriously, as much as I practically inhaled the Twilight books, the Harry Potter books are even better.

I kid you not.

And I never planned on reading either series.

Apology accepted! :o) I am not a fanatic, but I did enjoy the books. I haven't seen the movie yet either.

HaHa!! I also resisted for quite a while. But then my 11year old daughter was completely obsessed with the books. I had not been able to get her to read anything! So I had to see what the big deal was.
And btw, the movie was a big disappointment - I am glad that I read all the books prior to seeing the movie. The character choices for the movie just aren't very good.

I resisted the same way...and then, I read them all!
