My tip this week is how to satisfy those hot wing cravings veggie style...

It's not the prettiest thing ever, but this was my hot and spicy chik'n sandwich and it was gooooood.

I'm not fond of hot wings, but I'm fond of their taste. Given the choice I preferred boneless wings in my chicken days anyway. Last month, we got together with friends and they ate hot wings though, my husband included. The smell was killing me. I wanted hot sauce badly. So I decided that I needed to make my own version.

That time I tried it with MorningStar Chik'n Tenders. I'm not a fan of buying the spicy chik'n because then the kids have nothing to eat as spicy is a no go for them. I mixed up a batch of hot sauce using Frank's RedHot and butter. The suggested ratio of Frank's to Butter is 3 to 2 as per their website. I used something close to that. You can play with the ratio to get it spicier or more mild. We simply spooned the sauce over the tenders right before we ate them and they were PERFECT. They did the trick for my husband too, not just the "stubborn vegetarian". ;)

Those made me continue to crave hot sauce so I decided to try it with our Quorn Chik'n Patties. It was also yummy. I must say with the patties that I had to really load it up with sauce as the bun soaked up the sauce and made the heat less noticeable.

Who said I couldn't be veggie and enjoy my "hot wings" as well?! I'll take this alternative any day.
