Neglectful

It's been a long time since I've updated my blog with much more than Tofu Tuesday or a sporadic post here and there. I'm going to try getting back on the horse so to say.

K-Girl has been in school now nearly a month. She's loving kindergarten. I do think that full day has been the right choice for her. She loves all the different things they get to do. Besides the normal learning stuff, she enjoys that they get to have Music, Gym, and Library. She loves having recess time and getting to eat in the cafeteria. She's making a lot of new friends and it's great to hear her stories of the things that she's doing. Last night she came home and was all excited that she can "almost read". It's definitely an exciting new chapter.

In addition to school she's now doing swim classes twice a week for a few weeks. After the first class she decided she wasn't going back, but after the second night (though there were tears shed) she seems to be excited about going back next week. It's definitely something that I think is important for her to stick with so I'm glad she seems to be changing her mind about them. She comes up with something at least weekly that she would like to try out - soccer, dance, etc. - so probably once swim lessons are over we'll give something new a try.

E-Man and I have been equally as busy. Now that I don't have much in the way of time restrictions like last year with preschool we are very active with our playgroup. We are off doing something fun typically at least 3 days a week. He is also going down to Nan & Pap's house like K-Girl had been doing once a week. It's really good for him to get away from Momma a bit and learn to trust and have fun with someone else. Not having K-Girl around has been an adjustment for him. As much as they fight, she is still someone that he looks to for entertainment and companionship. He's getting better at learning to play by himself though. Our next step is potty training. I'm beyond done with diapers. I'm just ready to say good-bye to that part of the Momma-gig and move on. He seems really ready sometimes and then others he's anything but willing. I need to figure out something that will peak his interest and get the ball rolling for sure. I don't want to force him as I know that will neither work or be beneficial, but finding something that makes him decide it's a good idea, I'm all about it.

My exciting news is that I've finished my tattoo, well 99.9% done. I have a little bit of detail work that I'm going to go back for in a few weeks once this recent work has healed and I make up my mind for sure. It's very exciting as it's been 3 years since the last time I had it worked on and about 5 years since I got the ball rolling with it in the first place. Of course I have to share pictures...

I've edited out the names of the kids since I keep those off of the blog. But as you see by the first letters, K-Girl's name is on one shoulder and E-Man's is on the other. The shoulder with the pink cloud work is the one that I need to get a little more detailing in and then it will be 100% completed. But I'm very pleased and it feels great to finish it. Now I can start thinking about my next. ;)

Here very soon, The Husband and I are going to get back to Weight Watchers again. I'm really hoping we can both find the motivation that we did nearly 4 years ago when we did it and were so successful. I'd like to team it up with some exercise and see if I can't get even better results. I'm back up to the heavy end of my weight spectrum and that never makes me happy. I seem to have these 15 - 20 pounds that I like to move back and forth between - although I spend much more time at the top end of that. I had been doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred and that kicked my butt. I need to find it in myself to go back to her, even though I hate her. It's not natural not to hate something that hurts you that much. ;) So that's the next on the list. Hopefully getting our stuff together to start in the next week or two. I might have to get back to posting my Menu Plan Mondays as those helped to keep me on my meal planning wagon. I'm interested to see how it will be with being vegetarian and all this time around. I wish I was one of those vegetarains that was truly madly deeply in love with salad. That would make it a lot easier. But we shall see and I'm sure I'll be sharing as I go.

There's a lot to be done around this house and I need to get back on top of that too. I'm speaking in the sense of more than just house work. You remember this sneak peek I gave you of my craft room...back in APRIL? Yeah, it's still not done. It is close though. Everything is sitting there just waiting for my focus to return. Hopefully I'll be able to share the finished product soon, like next couple weeks soon. I haven't done much crafting as a result of the condition my room is in. I miss it. And with the cooler weather I really am feeling the need to start creating again.

Glad to see ya other than TT. I've missed reading about what's going on in your life since we really don't have the chance to get together anymore!
