365 - Week One

So here goes nothing.

All - ok, well the part of all that I wasn't on a blogging hiatus - last year I enjoyed watching Chris's (and others as well) post their pictures of their 365 photo challenge. The idea is that each day for a year you take a picture of something. Throughout the year I thought how neat this idea was, but a year is a long time to commit to a project. It's 365 days and I couldn't make it through a 30 day challenge of shredding every day. True, this requires the use of a camera and the other required me to put my body through somewhat of a 20 minute period of hell each day, so it may be a slightly easier task. However, did I mention the whole 365 day thing? What finally pushed me over the edge though was reading Chris's year in review. He could look back and remember things about the year that would have otherwise been forgotten. That's really neat. I've been quite the slacker with my camera and have gotten frustrated on many occasions at the things I've missed capturing with E-Man. I've got soooo many more pictures of K-Girl than with E-Man. They say it's normal with the second, but it still makes me a bit sad when I think of all the little things that I've lost. So I may not be anywhere near the photographer that others are, but pictures are memories saved, and for that reason I've decided to try to take on this challenge. Hopefully I'll make it.

DAY ONE

Day1of365

I made reference to this previously, but I've got a cloth diaper in the works. So after working hard to meet my personal deadline of the first week of January, here they are all sewn and pretty, ready to head off to their homes.

DAY TWO

Day2of365

Out delivering the locals of Day 1's diapers - I decided since my husband's trusty GPS showed me all around without once getting me lost that it needed a moment in the spotlight. I left the house at 8:45am and didn't get back till 12:30pm. I drove all over the county and found that when you're driving all back roads here there and everywhere, most you've never been on before, that it becomes quite disorienting.

DAY THREE

Day3of365

Crochet, crochet, crochet. Pretty much my idea of a perfectly spent chilly evening. Add some coffee and some good music in there and I'm happy. I'm getting old aren't I? I just finished up my son's car seat blanket last night and now need to finish of K-Girl's. I'm about halfway there now. I'll share them when I finish the one I'm doing for her.

DAY FOUR

Day4of365

Back with meal planning and kicking it off with a new recipe - Vegetarian Sheperd's Pie. It was delicious! I'm so glad to be getting back into the swing of things. Over the holidays we had very few actual groceries and were eating out all the time. Every now and then it's great for something different and a nice break, but after a while it just becomes blah no matter where you're eating out. It's good to be cooking, eating a bit healthier, and trying some new things. So far two for two this week with new recipes.

DAY FIVE

Day5of365

Working on one last diaper that I missed when I got the testers together. Oops. It's good that sewing is easily my second favorite hobby (right behind crocheting).

DAY SIX

Day6of365

This picture is so E-Man. Chilling on the couch watching Nick Jr with his man Wubsy, pop in the mouth. I'm pretty sure this is his equivalent of my time spent crocheting with coffee.

DAY SEVEN

Day7of365

It's A-MAZING! Today marked the first day of E-Man venturing into the big kid room at Playhouse Cafe. They have an over 2 room that is staffed and an under 2 room that is parent supervised. Even though he's 2 1/2 he refuses to go to the big kid room and usually hangs out with the little ones up front, not that it's a big deal especially since his best friend isn't quite 2 yet. The past few times he has wanted to go in the big kid room but changes his mind once we get to the door. Today was huge. He went in...and came out about 4 times, but he went in, played, and had a great time! I'm thinking this is the beginning of something beautiful.

(Taken through the window of the door at the other end of the playroom when I just so happened to see E-Man smiling and waving at me. It made me so happy to see him happy and having a great time in there that this just has to be my picture for the day regardless of the not so great quality.)

Woo for another 365er! I've finally jumped on the bandwagon too...mostly because of Chris (his review was VERY persuasive!). LOVE your pics (my favorite is the sewing machine shot) and your diapers are so cute!!!

Isn't it fun! I'm dong it too, because of Chris. I wish there was a Mr. Linky for it. It's fun to see what other people do, and it was the end of year recap that most got to me too.

Way to go ..... maybe next year I'll do a 365........ the 53 weeks of blessings I did once was hard.... not sure I could do it. Chris' was a moving review and I enjoyed seeing what he caught through his viewfinder.

Why is everyone blaming me for this? :)

Kelli, I think these are great shots -- especially that sewing machine picture! You are an adventurous soul, aren't you?

I'm very pleased that you are doing this -- I'm getting a lot of people suggesting that I host a place for everyone to link to.

Good idea?

Wow! You've been busy! I don't think I've been here before. But I enjoyed wandering around a bit. :)

You're off to a great start with your pictures!

Wow diapers! I am so impressed that you make them. I was too lazy to use cloth, I ruined the enviroment and went lazy way with disposable. Yay for you doing the right thing.
I really enjoyed going through your 365. I'm glad to find someone that is doing it too. I will be sure to come back and see what you did through the week.
Oh and how exciting that your little man is becoming more independent. It's always a relief when they make some of those steps.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

Don't you love it when they finally get brave enough to venture into the big kid area.
