The Unveiling

Roughly 9 months ago I teased you with this post and told you that in the next week or two my craft room would hopefully be finished. Truthfully it's still not "finished", but gosh darnit it's close enough. This is the cleanest most organized the room has ever been...ever. Over the past couple weeks, The Husband and I have really been focusing on getting the room organized. We've pulled out a lot of stuff to say good-bye to which feels really really good. So with the room in its current state I just have to share.

So without further adieu this is my craft room...

craftroom1

craftroom2

I can't tell you how much I love this room. I wanted something bold, bright and ME. This room is soooooo those things.

This is my work area...
craftroom3

This is my storage area. This past week I got a few more bins and took the time to organize all the yarn and fabric by kind so I can actually find things when I'm looking. It's LOVELY. The OCD in me was doing some big time celebrating when that was finished. ;)
craftroom4

Over here is fabric and my finished project for Whimsical Stitches. I had them above the other boxes in the above picture, but I decided I liked having the peg board functional rather than covered.
craftroom5

I spend a lot of time in front of that door ironing as well. ;) The shelf up there has my scrapbooks on it. The shelf is a catch-all and a spot to put my iron when I'm ironing. I'd like to work on finding something that matches, but for now this will work.
craftroom6

The kids like to come up and do crafts in my room so the card table is set up with chairs and baskets of supplies that they are allowed to use. There's also the easel to create with. I need to find somewhere to stash my patterns that are laying there though.
craftroom7

Working around the room there's the filing cabinet with supplies and my paper slicer, a paper organizer. The white cabinet is a bit of a treasure chest. I store all my recyclables in there for projects for another day (toilet paper rolls, glass jars, yogurt containers, etc). The tub under the table is for things I'd like to keep from K-Girl's school years.
craftroom8

Above my work table I have these two shelves containing my Cricut and cartridges and other items that I use often when working.
craftroom9

More shelves for storage - iron, sewing box, paint way up high far from where little hands can get into it without momma knowing, buttons, pins, etc etc.
craftroom10

On the peg board above my storage area I have pegs to hold my thread, dye, and some other items that need some homes.
craftroom11

And a peek at what those fabric panels are hiding. These are covering the stairs to the attic which prior to this last few weeks were COMPLETELY stacked with stuff. It would attack you if you moved one thing. MUCH better now. Before putting up the curtains I had a peg board "door" attached here.
craftroom12

And the other wall had sliding closet doors that squeaked sooooo loud that we could not open them when kids were asleep. We took them off and now have the fabric. SO much easier and much prettier! They are matching closets. One we use for seasonal decorations and the other is/will be the office area. This also shows you what the walls of the entire room looked like when we moved in. Add to it original to the house shag carpeting and this room was a gem. ;)
craftroom13

So there are a few things that need to be finished -

1. painting above the curtain panels
2. painting the inside of the seasonal closet either teal like the room or pink like the other closet (you can somewhat see that in the above picture (to the right of the blue divider).
2. cover for the air conditioner
3. That closet that you didn't get to see, that's the office area. There's a desk in there...somewhere. Hopefully one day soon there will be some organization in there and it will be a functional area in this room as well.

Being in this room makes me very happy. I can sneak away and be productive, creative, and get a nice recharge that as a mom is typically much needed. I'm so happy that we have this extra space in this house to be able to have this area.

***Before you leave take a moment and check out the giveaway I'm hosting for a chance to win something from my Etsy store, Whimsical Stitches. It will be open until Wednesday this week.***
