On Monday I was doing some cleaning and I picked up a bag from Target that had been on our kitchen table. In the bag was a big bag of M&Ms that I had picked up as potty training incentives. I wasn't planning on starting quite yet, but it was coming soon. Well E-Man saw me get the bag of M&Ms out and immediately asked if he could have some. I told him that they were potty M&Ms and the only way he could get those were if he pee pee or poo-poos on the potty. Immediate he took off for the potty. I followed, took off his diaper, put him on the potty and he peed. We cleaned up and then got an M&M.
That morning we were in the bathroom more than we were out. He perfected the art of getting just a dribble out to get an M&M and then saying "I done!!" There wasn't much I could do without confusing the message though so we just went with it. Luckily the dribbles have decreased significantly and he's making great headway.
Now that he's wearing unders I don't want to put him back in diapers. Obviously he's in them for naps and night time. And I also put him in a diaper when we walked to the bus stop earlier this week as with snow pants and everything on and not being able to do anything about it if he needed to go I though better safe than sorry. But other than that he's been in unders and doing rather well. It's been a good time to do it since we're stuck here in the house under all this snow.
I do really enjoy cloth diapering, but I think I've reached the point where I'm ready to be done with diapers all together. Although ask me when we are officially potty trained and I'm sure there will be a period of mourning that my baby is really not a baby anymore.

It is nice to be done with diapers. It is great that he seems pretty gung ho about it.
What an AWESOME thing! WAY TO GO!!! I hope my 2nd is that easy to train! My 1st was a DOOSEY! BTW, Bubbie loves that show that E-Man is watching! Every day at 11:30!
Great job! We did the same kind of thing. I didn't intend to start yet, but my son wanted to wear underwear and we didn't look back!
we ended up accidentally potty training too. Once I started sticking dd on the potty for her BMs, I was like... that's it. No turning back! She was only 20 months old!
mine has FINALLY figured it out! it was like a switch! once he learned what the feeling was - it came quickly - even #2! Way to go girl! See - chocolate rocks! ;-)
YAY for potty learning! we are working on it over here too :) so far it is going fairly well... a day doesn't go by that i am not thankful for a carpet less house though ;)
eh, you'll mourn that loss of "baby" but it won't be mourning the diapers, I promise you that! LOL You'd think with Connor, my last, I'd have been especially sad to see the end of babyhood and diapers, but after close to 7 years of solid diapers without a break (between all three kids and their close-ish birth spacing), I was done done DONE and have rejoiced ever since. ha ha!
good luck with the potty-training. LOVE m&m's as potty incentives. totally did that with my kids, too. hurray for m&m's!
