In thinking about what I've missed in blogging, the first thing of importance seemed to be that my little E-Man turned 3 on May 30th. He's getting so big. This year we decided that since all of his friends are in our playgroup that we would just have a party at the park for the kids. K-Girl was a bit sad because she would be in school, but we still celebrated on his birthday and have another joint birthday party coming up on Sunday for both kids since they are just a month apart.
E-Man decided that he wanted to have a Team Umizoomi birthday party. This was a bit more of a challenge because there is absolutely NOTHING out there party-wise for Umizoomi.
For the party I made a Happy Birthday sign which is now taped to E-Man's bedroom door...
And since the party was at the park that was all we did for decorations.
I like to have the kids wearing something that is within the theme of the party, but with no Umizoomi merchandise I wasn't sure what we were going to do. However, on the Nick Jr website they had iron-on transfers to print for each of the characters so I made E-Man a Geo shirt. (K-Girl got a Bot shirt that she thinks is pretty awesome.)
For the games we played pin the pigtails on Milli...
Each child got two ribbons with double-sided tape attached to stick closest to where her pigtails should be...
The two children closest got a tube of mini M&Ms for a prize.
We also did a number hunt. On 6"x6" pieces of cardstock, I glued the numbers 1 through 10. I used my cricut to cut out the numbers which made it go quicker. The Husband hid them while the kids were doing crafts. They had a good time searching for the numbers and then lining them up in order...
For a craft-type activity I found (also on Nick Jr's Umizoomi page) printable shape "blueprints". Each of the kids could cut out their shapes and then glue them to the blueprint to make their picture. There were different trucks, a plane, hot air balloon, etc.
Then it was time for the cake! We decided to go with cupcakes from Sam's as you can't beat the price and they are yummy! We got blue for Geo, pink for Milli, and green for Bot.
And before everyone left they all got a treat bag. I made printable stickers from Nick Jr and put a few in each bag along with M&M minis and lollipops. On the outside I put one of the stickers and the child's name...
The kids all seemed to have a blast and E-Man LOVED it so the party was definitely a success!
